More Tales From The Customer Service Industry

There’s something special about the experiences you have at work. Sometimes they are good, other times not so much. Often I think back to the things I’ve seen in the service industry while dealing with customers. This goes from retail to hospitality to anything. Some of this stuff I’ve probably done as a customer at some point. I know a lot about the service industry. For about 16 years, I’ve been trying to get out of it. I’m laughing but I’m dead serious. It’s a very hard industry to get out of and a very enticing industry to stay in. When the economy is bad, you can still work most service industry jobs. The skills are transferable across the board. So a lot of people end up going back if they are desperate for work or if they need a side hustle to make ends meet.

I write a lot about the service industry, because I’ve seen some very peculiar things. It’s very interesting and someone (not me) should do a study on human shopping behavior. I’d read it. To jump into it, here are five quirky, crazy and weird things I’ve seen while working customer service jobs.
